About Mayara

Classes are created according to the objectivies and needs that the student seeks through the practice of Yoga.

All my Yoga classes consist of Breathing Techniques (Pranayamas), Yoga Postures (Asanas - which will help you increase your flexibility, strength, balance and provide a high level of relaxation). I also always include some meditation and mantras at the end of the class!

Classes are for all levels and ages.

About the lesson

I'm Maya, a Portuguese Brazilian Yoga teacher passionate about Nature, Arts, Dance, Music, Travel and Yoga!

I have created the Yoga Om Maya project which was an idea developed along my trajectory in the Yoga World. My first contact with Yoga was over 7 years ago in Australia, where I found a way to evolve spiritually and get to know myself better, as well as work on my physical and mental body.

I have spent many years living in Australia and after I decided to move to Portugal, my grandfather's home country. As I got to know more about the country and its beautiful beaches, villages, architecture and so on, I completely fell in love!

After living for many years in Lisbon, I have moved to a seaside community on the western coast of Portugal called Ericeira. It is a beautiful place full of beaches and walking trails and it is considered to be the surfing capital of Europe. Since the first day that I moved to Ericeira I could completely call this place home!

From here I started to feel a big need to increase my knowledge of Yoga and take my practice to the next level. That is when I decided to take an International Yoga Teacher Training Course (YTT 200hrs) from an Indian School, and I have also taken some extra Yoga related courses where I learned much more than I could ever imagine.

Right now, my goal is to share all my knowledge with care, love and respect, so people from everywhere in the World can learn more about Yoga and enjoy all the benefits of it.
