About Caleb

I have experience as a student tutor for athletes at North Carolina State University, where I helped peers understand complex subjects in a supportive environment. Additionally, I worked as an after-school tutor at Wake STEM Early College High School, assisting students with math and science concepts. Along with my tutoring roles, I have worked as a lab assistant at both private companies and school laboratories. These experiences have enhanced my problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex ideas effectively. My passion for teaching, combined with my academic and professional background, ensures I can guide students to achieve their goals with confidence and understanding.

As a tutor, I take a personalized approach to ensure my students fully understand the material and can apply it confidently. I believe in fostering a supportive, interactive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging with the content.

Teaching Method and Techniques:
My teaching method combines a clear explanation of core concepts with hands-on problem-solving. I use real-world examples and applications, especially from biomedical engineering, to demonstrate how math, physics, chemistry, and biology come together. I adapt my approach based on each studentโ€™s learning style, breaking down complex ideas into digestible pieces and providing practice problems for reinforcement.

Typical Lesson Plan:
Review: I start each lesson by reviewing the previous material or any specific topics that the student needs more help with.
Concept Explanation: I explain the key concepts in a clear and structured manner, often using diagrams or visual aids to illustrate difficult topics.
Guided Practice: I walk students through a few practice problems, highlighting the steps involved and encouraging them to explain their thought process.
Independent Practice: I give students practice problems to work on independently, providing guidance as needed.
Q&A and Feedback: At the end of the lesson, we go over any questions or areas of confusion, and I offer constructive feedback on how they can improve.
What Sets Me Apart:
What makes me unique as a tutor is my strong background in both the sciences and engineering. My studies in biomedical engineering have given me a deep understanding of complex concepts across various fields, which I use to make connections between different subjects. I also prioritize building confidence in my students and helping them see the practical application of what they're learning.

Who the Lessons Are For:
My lessons are ideal for middle and high school students who need help in math, physics, chemistry, and biology. Whether you're struggling to understand specific topics or looking to improve your grades, my tutoring will help you gain a deeper understanding of the material. I also offer support for students preparing for advanced courses or exams in these subjects.
