About Deb

Techniques for stage fear management and vocal health are at the core of my teaching practice. Most people think they need more volume when they actually need less. I work with students starting from zero and those stuck halfway through their journey.

Having earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from the University of Michigan, I offer expertise in harmony singing and tone resonance. My path to singing was the long way round, following a career that had nothing to do with teaching.

I tell you when something is not working rather than quietly persevering. You get honest feedback regarding microphone technique and the balance between head and chest voice. My goal is to bring greater clarity and precision to your vocal performance.

I bridge the gap for opera singers making the shift into MT while keeping your instrument healthy. You receive free access to my breathing and warm-up exercise notes to ensure your progress continues outside our time together.

Learning here is an energetic process that prioritizes your specific vocal health. I draw on my own stage history to guide you through the transition between genres.

My approach is supportive yet blunt because your instrument deserves nothing less than the truth. You will leave the studio feeling secure in your sound. Everything we do serves your artistic development.
