About Kattitude

I am an international award-winning musician with years of experience performing and teaching. Music has been my lifelong passion, and I love sharing it with others. Teaching allows me to help students build strong technique, develop confidence on stage, and discover their own creativity through singing, piano, and songwriting. • When did you develop an interest in music and/or your favourite instrument?

I honestly can’t remember a time when I didn’t love music — it feels like it’s always been part of me. My dad introduced me to Guns N’ Roses when I was still in the womb, and from my earliest memories I loved the physical sensation singing gave me. Music has always been in my blood; I come from a long line of dancers, so rhythm and expression are in my bones. More than anything, music has been my therapy — my safe space. Whenever emotions felt too big to carry, singing was the way I could release them and feel whole again.
  • Is there a particular type of music or an artist that you could happily listen to on a loop?

There are way too many to mention, because my taste is so broad — but if the music tells a good story, I’m all in. Storytelling through lyrics and performance is what hooks me, no matter the genre.
  • Explain to us the most difficult or 'riveting' lesson you could personally give to one of your students.

One of the most exciting lessons I give is helping a student prepare for their first stage performance. It combines everything — technique, breath control, expression, and stage presence. Watching a student step into their power and own the stage for the first time is always riveting.
  • What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

I’d say the voice is the most complex instrument because it’s invisible and entirely internal. You can’t “see” how it works like a piano or guitar, and it’s tied to our emotions, health, and confidence. Mastering it requires both technical discipline and emotional awareness.
  • What are your keys to success (aside from do re mi fa sol ...)?

Consistency, creativity, and confidence. If you practice regularly, allow yourself to be creative, and learn to trust your voice, you’ll grow as a musician and performer.
  • Name three musicians you dream of meeting, and explain why.

I would love to meet Freddie King, because his way of playing blues is so unique. I admire his warm, soulful voice and even the humor in his lyrics — often heartbreak songs that he lightens with comedy, like saying he’ll just go have something to eat after being left.

I’d also love to meet Gerard Way, whose extreme creativity and storytelling through lyrics has always inspired me. The way he builds entire narratives as an artist shows how powerful music can be as a form of storytelling.

Finally, I’d choose Kawehi, a DIY artist whose talent, originality, and unique approach to creating music have directly inspired my own style. I admire her driven attitude and the way she’s carved out her own path in the industry.
  • Could you share an anecdote related to your musical journey or your student days?

When I was 7 years old, our class had to do a book report. Instead of writing it out, I turned my review into a song and performed it for the class. My teacher was shocked, and my parents and classmates were amazed, while I thought it was the most natural thing in the world. That experience showed me that music was my true language, and I’ve been writing songs ever since.
  • What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

I personalise every lesson to match the student’s goals, blending solid technique with creativity so they can grow as both musicians and performers. My approach also goes beyond just the music — I focus on building an emotional connection and creating a safe space where students can express themselves. Often, lessons become a way to work through tough emotions or challenges, helping them not only sing better but also feel more confident and supported in their personal journey.
