About Tanmay
I have been playing drums and percussion for over 20 years, and over this time music has taken me around the world as a drummer, percussionist, multi-instrumentalist, educator and drum circle facilitator.
I have had the opportunity to represent India in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai and Bangladesh, and to perform alongside artists such as Sunidhi Chauhan. I am a Grade 8-certified drummer from Rockschool London and a Visharad graduate of Bhatkhande University, with over 17 years of teaching experience.
Through my initiative, TanmayDrumCircle, I have conducted more than 500 interactive drum circles with communities and corporate teams, using rhythm as a way to bring people together. I have also had the privilege of teaching hundreds of students and providing free music education to more than 1,000 children across India.
I am also a director of the Asia Pacific Percussion Society (Indian Region), an initiative that brings percussionists together through cultural exchange and collaboration across Asia.
For me, music is ultimately about connection, creativity and expression. I love helping students discover their own relationship with rhythm, whether they are picking up drumsticks for the first time or looking to develop themselves as serious musicians.

Tanmay Sir has been my drum teacher since 2022 and has completely taken my drums to the next level! He has so much experience playing in bands and on stage, and he has really helped me figure out how to compose my drums to both support and stand out in my music. He is incredibly energetic, passionate, and enthusiastic about all things music, and that energy is so contagious - every time I meet with him he fills me with the same excitement and passion. His teaching style is thorough, in-depth, and focused deeply on what really sounds best.
Thank you so much Tanmay Sir for all of your teaching and guidance so far, and looking forward to continuing our lessons together!See more recommendations
