About Manaslu
Are you a student who is shy, very energetic, or anxious, or do you feel hopeless in your studies?
As someone who has ADHD (attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder) and my fair share of anxiety, I know how you feel.I have still been able to thrive, and I will teach you how to as well!
Hi, my name is Manaslu; you can call me Manny :)
I will be your teacher for Maths and Science. Here is a little bit about me. I was a mechanical engineer working in Thames Water (which means that I made sure you had water to drink, shower and flush the toilet). I graduated in Mechanical Engineering with an Upper Class of 2:1 honours. I won many awards in school, and I was a gifted student.
However, I was not always this academically gifted. I was below average and failing classes until year 9. So for the students who are struggling, I see you! I turned my life around and remember that you too. The underdogs always win at the end!

I have experience teaching students (from the ages of 5 to 17 years old) who are very different in nature.
My teaching method is getting to know you first and figuring out how you learn best.
Some students like humour or role playing for e.g., 'Imagine you were a dinosaur; how would you solve this question?'
Some students need lots of breaks to run around and then resume.
Some students need a lot of reassurance and care.
After figuring out how you learn and engage, I will give you an overview of the lessons, asking for your opinions on the lesson plan and the structure. If you are confident and happy with it, then we can start with our lessons.
At the start of every lesson, there will be a lesson objective at the beginning, a short review session (active recall), and the end time for you to ask me questions or give any suggestions on our lessons.
My priority is your growth as a person. I will always make you feel comfortable and engaged in my lessons. My students have gone on to achieve Grades 9, 8, and 7 in their GCSEs.
You will too, with some hard work, self-belief, and guidance!
