About Senan

Senan has been drumming for 18 years and working professionally as a drummer and drum teacher for the last 6 years. He holds a first class honours degree in Jazz and has played in a range of ensembles (e.g. jazz trios and larger lineups, pop bands, and big bands) both live and in the recording studio. Senan has taught students from age 5 to 60 and firmly believes it's never too late to pick up an instrument. He has taught drum lessons in schools, music centres and privately, as well as teaching classes in samba & djembe.

About the lesson

First 30 minutes free - let's get started!

My main focus as a tutor is to share my passion for music and to help students enjoy being behind the kit - supporting you in finding and establishing your own drumming style, and playing the music that you love - whatever that might be!

I’ve worked with drummers of all ages and abilities - I've loved the opportunity to introduce complete beginners to the instrument, as well as support advanced players in joining national orchestras, securing places on university courses, achieving grade 8 distinction, and utilising my jazz specialism.

I tailor each of my lessons to you, ensuring that we are working towards your personal goals - whether it be jamming along to your favourite songs, working towards a performance or a graded exam, or supporting you in pursuing a pro career in music. We can work on areas such as: learning songs, building stylistic awareness, rudiments and coordination exercises, improvisation and creativity, timing and groove, sight-reading (if desired), and more.

All ages and abilities are welcome. Standard lessons are 60 minutes but we can also discuss 30, 45 or 90 minute lessons - I am also DBS checked.
