About Christina
I am a patient tutor who puts the student first, followed by the lesson and individual goals. I believe learning works best when students feel supported, understood, and confident before focusing on content. In addition to tutoring, I am a dance teacher with experience teaching students from ages 2 to 18. This background has helped me learn how to adapt to different learning styles, ages, and personalities. I focus on breaking concepts down simply and teaching students how to break them down on their own for future growth and independence. I believe anyone has the ability to learn. One of the biggest challenges in education is balancing learning with mental health and burnout, and I strive to create a supportive, low-pressure learning environment. I also believe intelligence is not something you’re born with—it’s something you develop and make your own. I encourage students to use the things they love, including their hobbies, to strengthen understanding and build confidence.

I offer one-on-one tutoring in math and biology, with lessons tailored to each student’s individual learning style. I tutor math from algebra through calculus, excluding geometry and trigonometry, and have tutoring experience in biology, including genetics, ecology, and biological evolution.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from East Carolina University and have experience tutoring pre-calculus, calculus, and biology. I work closely with students to break down challenging concepts and adjust my teaching approach using visual or auditory methods based on what works best for each student.
I believe that any student can learn—the key is identifying the right approach. In addition to teaching content, I help students build effective study habits that support long-term understanding and academic confidence.
