About Brianna
Licensed Mathematics teacher. Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics and Math Education from Brigham Young University. Currently inspiring students to succeed and gain self-confidence in my middle school classroom. Began tutoring 10 years ago as a volunteer in 1st and 2nd grade classrooms. Tutored as young as 1st grade math and up to Calculus and College Algebra. Developed questioning skills as a College Algebra TA at BYU to help students dive deeper into the why's and not just the "rules" of the math they're learning. The two high school students I weekly tutor tutor have gotten A's on all their tests this year. I have also helped elementary students get back on grade level, achieve proficiency+ on RISE, and more importantly obtain their mathematical identity.

I believe that all students have the ability to achieve at high levels in math. I hope to help them to develop self-efficacy and a growth mindset in mathematics.
Together we begin by assessing your student's mathematical understanding, study skills, and disposition. Through identifying their strengths and weaknesses we set specific goals for how students desire to improve.
Goals could include: mastering missed concepts, retaining/reviewing content learned this past school year, previewing next year's material to get ahead, preparing for the ACT, and gaining study skills such as: preparing for/taking tests, effective note taking, staying on top of assignments, how to approach and solve word problems, etc.
During our sessions, each lesson and activity will be geared towards these goals. Students will be expected to practice on their own time if they desire to reach their goal in a timely manner.

Details
Sessions start at $30 per hour. Location for sessions occur wherever is most convenient for you. Local library, home, etc. A travel fee will be added if your desired location is further than 30 minutes away. Accommodations can be made.
