To start, each student will complete an initial assessment to identify strengths, weaknesses, and specific NCEA goals, whether that’s aiming for Merit or Excellence. This assessment, combined with a discussion of the student’s learning needs, will guide our sessions. Each 1–1.5 hour session will begin with a quick review of past content before introducing new concepts with examples, followed by guided and independent practice to build both understanding and confidence. Sessions will conclude with feedback and targeted homework to reinforce learning.
For exam preparation, we’ll focus on NCEA past papers, understanding assessment expectations, and practicing effective exam strategies like time management. Regular mock exams will help build test confidence and reduce stress. We’ll focus on core NCEA math topics (e.g., algebra, calculus, geometry, and statistics), ensuring a strong foundation before progressing to complex problems. And any of your struggles in science.
