About Moody

The most valuable skills I utilize in tutoring math and physics are communication and student assessment. My technique is to focus on understanding a student’s thought process, and then teach the subject in the way that best fits that student’s unique thought process. Once the student understands the subject according to their own natural thought process, there is no need to memorize steps, because the student now truly understands the subject. This leads to the student reasoning their way to solutions in ways that are intuitive, natural, easy and unique to that specific student.

I tutored all through college to help pay my tuition. I tutored on the side for free, during my engineering career because I loved it. Now I work as a professional tutor full-time, so that I can do what I love for a living, instead of on the side. I love to see people realizing that math and physics can be easy and fun, so I hope one day, I have the chance to help you too!!!!!

• Emphasis is placed on interactively communicating with the student in order to assist the student in obtaining an intuitive (not memorized) comprehension of the subject.
• Provide student and parent (if applicable) with overall tutoring guidelines prior to first session.
• Analyze student comprehension (level/style) and then tailor material presentation and dialogue accordingly.
• Questions are continually posed to the student throughout the entire session to maximize the student’s engagement, as well as to better assess the student’s comprehension level and style. Tasks & goals are set for the next session, as well as for the entire quarter/semester. Tasks & goals are discussed at the end of each session with the student and parent (if applicable).
