About Marissa

I have four years of experience teaching mathematics and chemistry from high school to college level students. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in neuroscience. During my undergraduate career, I served as a Lead Teaching Assistant supervising 6 TA's and providing ultimate support to freshman students. Since then, I have tutored several students in mathematics of all grade levels. For the last year, I have served as a Chemistry tutor and Educational Consultant for a program at Phillips Academy Andover, (MS)^2. I have plenty of experience in both math and chemistry and happy to share my expertise with other students.

About the lesson

As a dedicated tutor with over four years of experience in math and chemistry—and a background as a college teaching assistant in chemistry—I focus on building a strong foundation of understanding in each student. I believe in tailoring my approach to meet individual learning styles, making complex concepts accessible through clear explanations and real-world examples. My goal is to not only help students succeed academically but also to inspire confidence in their ability to tackle challenging material.
