About Cindy

Selected as Top 10 tutor of 2020 on this website, I am a passionate chemistry and math tutor with over 7 years of experience. I am good at breaking down complex information into understandable chunks. I am committed to helping you discover the beauty of learning. My diverse educational background in public, private, and international schools gives me the expertise to design my teaching style based on my student’s needs. I’m also happy to chat about my experiences with pre-med, college applications, and choosing career paths. I’m currently conducting my lessons over Zoom.

Other things about me: I like food and graphic design. I have a 11-month-old Dachshund pup. I'm also a certified piano teacher.

I look forward to being a part of your learning journey!

The advancement of humanity greatly relies on retaining and transferring knowledge. Being a tutor for the next generation is an honor and a responsibility.

I first started tutoring in the library of my high school after school to help classmates with schoolwork.

I've been an academic tutor part time here and there since high school.

About the lesson

For me to work effectively with a student, I'd need to make sure that the student is comfortable communicating with me. I would first try to establish a lighthearted and inspiring learning environment. I believe that each student has a unique learning process. I'd spend some time allowing the both of us to get to know each other to assess the student's level of understanding and engagement.

Mainly high school age or above students. Occasionally elementary age students.

Learning is fun!

My family and I have been working on building a guesthouse in our backyard. After several months of laboring and becoming a regular at Home Depot, I'm proud to say that I helped build a house

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are some of things the student excels at? What are their strengths and interests?

I reached to Cindy after I’ve been struggling with math for a while. I’ve tried a couple tutors previously but my grades haven’t improved. After just several sessions with Cindy, I already feel a lot confident for my math class.
