About Paola

Starting from the age of 9, I loved helping my siblings with their school work. Since then, my passion for helping others understand school material in a variety of topics has only increased. I love history, maths, science, English, Spanish, and basic French. However, more than anything, I love knowing that I am giving others the tools to love learning as well!

Students in my classes starting asking me for help, and my parents asked me to help me teach my siblings! That was when I learned I love working with people and helping them understand what they believe is never-understandable.

I have been tutoring students younger and older than me since High School. I also homeschooled my younger sister for four months until she returned to school in person.

About the lesson

First and foremost, I want to get to know who I am working with. Everyone is different, so everyone's learning style is also different.

I have worked with kids as young as 6 and teenagers up to the age of 18.

Try to look for connection and understanding. We learn best when we are comfortable with who is teaching us. When we feel disconnected, we become fearful and our need for safety is heightened. This makes it harder to learn, and it takes away the confidence in finding a good tutor that suits your needs.

I was able to help a student go from an F in their High School Pre-calculus course to a B. This student learned the material after a couple of months of hard work-- two days per week. He was then able to pass the class and graduate High School with an improved GPA!
