About Ivana
I enjoy helping students grow and strengthen their understanding of math and science concepts. Tutoring enables me to approach each student with the personalized learning curriculum that enables them to achieve their best.
I am passionate about learning as I have been a student myself for most of my life. I have a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics. I have worked for two years as a toxicologist and I have been in graduate school for the past 4 years. I am a PhD candidate in Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology. Among my other duties in the graduate school, I teach incoming graduate students various lab and research techniques in molecular biology and biochemistry.
As an avid learner, I have truly enjoyed learning and teaching mathematics and sciences. I am detail oriented, friendly, and I can explain complicated concepts in simple terms.

Before we start our tutoring sessions, I like to spend 10-20 minutes with the parents and/or the student to help us all get on the same page. I want to know what are the specific areas that the student is struguling with and I like to set some goals. I like to know what is the studying style of the student, what helps them learn easier... I can then adapt and suggest new techniques to target the specific needs of the student.
