About Zachary

My business is run by the owner, me. This way I am more motivated and inclined to give you or your child an unbeatable understanding of the material you or he/she needs help with. Don’t hesitate to ask me for help!

I am a high school student in my senior year. I am currently taking AP calculus and Honors Engineering Physics. Last year I took AP chemistry and received a 5 on the AP chemistry test.

I love teaching and sharing my knowledge. Truly, it is one of the things that keeps me going.

My mother introduced me to teaching as that is her job. I had watched her teach her student in the past and I realized that I could do that too and help some other students.

I don’t have any formal training for tutoring, but my mother is a teacher for Denver Public Schools, and I have helped her manage her workload and students. As for education, I have excelled in mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Before college I had already completed college chemistry and calculus 2.

About the lesson

I will usually start with a quick test covering most topics the student will be learning in the subject he/she is taking. I will use that test to gauge how much the student knows about the subject and how much he/she is behind. From there we will work from the last point the student understands and we will continue until the student has caught up with the rest of his/her class.

All elementary, middle, and high school students. I teach all levels of math and sciences.

Only get a tutor if you really need one. There are plenty of services online, like Khan Academy, that are free and very helpful. I understand that not all problems can be solved by answers online, but I highly recommend trying Khan Academy before you hire a tutor.

My best friend during my first two years of high school was two years ahead of me. So, by the time I was a junior, he had already graduated and gone to college. This winter break, he flew back to Denver and we got to hang out for a few days over break.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Do you want to be tutored, or do your parents want you to be tutored. If you are falling behind in a class, but the only person advocating for help for you is your mom, tutoring won’t get you very far. You have to want to improve your academics for them to actually improve. It’s up to you.

Details

I charge a fixed rate of $40 per hour. I only charge in intervals of half an hour, so if I was tutoring you or your child for 2 hours and 15 minutes, I would charge $90 for 2 hours and 30 minutes.
