About Charlotte

Hi! I am a very reliable, patient, and creative person who has several years of experience tutoring students, from middle school to university level. Now that the school year has started, I'm looking for a way to help any student who might be struggling, especially with the latest implementation of online courses in many schools. I'm willing to work with the teacher to provide your child with the best learning experience. Personally, I am an organized, supportive, and self-motivated multitasker. With all my skills and experience, I'm able to provide an encouraging study environment for your student.

I enjoy seeing my students succeed. I am dedicated to helping each of my students study more effectively. As each student learns differently, I like developing a personalized teaching style for the student. My main passion for tutoring comes from seeing the 'Aha' moment in my students. I love this achievement because it is normally the turning point for the student, where they become more engaged and willing to develop their skills even more.

I started tutoring in high school as a part of The National Honor Society. I have continued to form study groups and help tutor individual students at the university I attend. In my free time, I tutor students from the local middle school and high schools.

I am a university student so I am comfortable tutoring middle school and high school students. I am an accounting major which means that I can help students at different levels of math courses.

I am dedicated to enhancing the education of my students so I alter my teaching approaches to meet the needs of the student. I am aware that some students are more visual so prefer to take notes, while others learn by working through problems. In particular, for math-related exercises, I reword the question so that the problem becomes more logical and practical for the student. My process for working with students is centered around how they learn best and working with those skills to study new material.

I have worked with lots of different students over a wide range of ages. I find it easiest to tutor students that want to learn and are willing to engage in their lessons. However, I have no problem overcoming issues with students who are less passionate about their schoolwork. I have mainly helped students who are struggling in math courses but I am able to branch out into English or chemistry courses.

I would advise that the student narrow down the issues they are struggling with. It is difficult when a student simply says that they are having a hard time with a course. What would be more effective, would be for the student to point out specific topics within the course that we could start working on.

I recently met up with a previous student of mine who I started teaching when he was in middle school. He was struggling in math and it knocked his confidence in his other courses. I was able to raise his class score by two letter grades which not only helped his school grades but his confidence. When I saw him last week, he told me how he has been able to keep up his math grades through his second year of high school.
