About Josie

Hi! I’m Josie, a flautist currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London. I’ve been playing the flute for many years and have developed a strong passion for both performing and teaching, working with students of different ages and abilities in various settings.
I’m experienced as both a teacher and performer, and have worked across a range of musical styles. I regularly perform in chamber ensembles and orchestras, and enjoy bringing this real-world musical experience into my lessons.
I’m passionate about helping students not only improve their technique, but also build confidence and enjoy making music. My lessons are friendly, supportive, and tailored to each individual’s goals — whether you’re learning for fun, preparing for exams, or developing your performance skills.

I always aim to create a positive and relaxed learning environment where students feel motivated and can make steady progress.

About the lesson

My flute lessons are designed to be supportive, inspiring, and fully personalised to your needs. I help students develop solid fundamentals, improve tone and expression, and gain confidence in performance. Lessons are relaxed but focused, ensuring steady progress while keeping your enjoyment of music at the centre.

Josie has been a fantastic flute teacher for my 12-year-old son. She is incredibly patient, encouraging, and always manages to make lessons both fun and productive. My son really looks forward to every session and has grown so much in confidence and ability since starting with her. Josie has a very inspiring way of teaching that keeps him motivated and excited about music. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a supportive and skilled flute teacher.
