Qualified teacher with a flair, 7 yrs teaching experience, based in Polokwane, Limpopo SA

I have known Matthew as a fellow musician and collaborative learning partner. Having worked alongside him in creative and educational settings, I’ve had a front-row seat to his deep musicality, technical expertise, and outstanding ability to communicate the language of music to others.

Matthew’s teaching style is incredibly patient, encouraging, and adaptive. Music can be intimidating—whether you are trying to master a difficult rhythm, understand complex music theory, or improve your technique—but Matthew makes the process feel entirely stress-free. He balances discipline with fun, ensuring that while you are building solid fundamental skills, you never lose the joy of playing. He listens deeply to his students' goals and tailors every lesson to match their unique rhythm and pace.

What stands out most is Matthew’s gift for tackling performance anxiety and frustration. I remember working on a particularly intricate piece where the phrasing just wasn't clicking, and tension was setting in. Matthew didn't just tell me to "practice it again." Instead, he broke the piece down into a fun, bite-sized rhythmic exercise and used a brilliant visualization technique to help relax the approach. Within minutes, the tension was gone, and the music flowed naturally. It’s that exact blend of empathy, patience, and musical instinct that makes him a fantastic mentor.

I highly recommend him.

Mathews is a very skilled and professional flutist who has won several accolades in his mysic career. I knew him since 2014 when he was part of a jazz band that used to perform for elites at Polokwane. His dedication to musical profession is unquestionable. Mathews loves kids and his patience and resilience at handling issues will be a great benefit in his teaching career.

I have known Mathew for over 12 years when my child needed help with how to play flute.
My child came back on the first day and he was like the teacher I introduced him to gave him made playing flute the simplest thing you can ever think of.
Mathew is expectional with his teaching. He understand how to impact music unto his learners.
Please give him a chance to proof his worth.
