About Alexa
Hi! My name is Alexa Ovalles, and I’m a medical student who loves learning and sharing what I know with others. I’ve always enjoyed teaching because it’s a way to connect with people and make a difference, whether I’m leading study sessions for classmates or helping younger students through mentoring programs. For me, teaching isn’t just about sharing facts; it’s about making learning fun, encouraging curiosity, and helping others feel confident in their abilities. I believe anyone can achieve amazing things with the right support and mindset, and I want to be part of that journey for my students. I encourage questions and foster curiosity, aiming to make learning a collaborative and enjoyable process.
As a medical student, I bring a deep understanding of the sciences and firsthand experience applying knowledge in practical and clinical settings. I’m passionate about making complex topics accessible and relatable. My approach is empathetic, patient, and encouraging, which helps students overcome learning obstacles and build confidence. My bilingual skills (English and Spanish) also allow me to connect with a diverse range of learners.
