About Jacqueline

Hi, I’m Jay! I’m an experienced teacher currently working in China, where I teach English and science to children across a range of ages and ability levels.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging and highly interactive. I believe students learn best when they understand why something works rather than simply memorising the answer, so I focus on clear explanations, step-by-step support and plenty of practical practice.

I’m friendly and relaxed in lessons, but I also take students’ progress seriously. Whether you want help improving your knowledge, building confidence with exams, strengthening your foundations, or simply having regular structured practice, I’ll tailor our lessons around your goals.

Lessons with me are supportive, practical and personalised — mistakes are part of learning, and we use them to work out exactly what to improve next.
I’d be very happy to discuss your goals before our first lesson and create a plan that works for you.

About the lesson

I aim to make my classes very tailored to the students needs; taking into consideration how they approach tasks, their attitude towards doing so and their strengths and weaknesses.
Depending on how much time I have to work with the student will depend on how in depth I will go into each topic. I will usually spend more time on the topics they require more assistance on.

I am able to set homework but I also understand if the student already receives sufficient homework from their schools.
