About the lesson

As a tutor, my primary goal is to facilitate a deep understanding of concepts and foster an environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. I start with the basics, ensuring students understand the fundamental concepts before moving on to more complex topics. I also engage students through problem-solving, individual projects, and interactive discussions rather than boring lectures. I believe testing is important, and I provide timely feedback on assignments and quizzes. Guiding students on how to approach problems, think critically, and develop a learning strategy that works best for them is also a priority of mine.

My typical lesson plan:
- Start with a brief review of the previous lesson to refresh concepts.
- Introduce new topics using direct instruction, multimedia resources (ie. videos, websites), and real-life examples.
- Encourage questions and discussions to deepen understanding and engage with the material actively.
- Allocate time for solving problems and assignments.
- End with a summary of key takeaways and/or a quiz.

What sets me apart as a tutor is that I understand that each student has a unique learning style, and I am willing and more than able to adapt to these differing styles in my lessons.

My lessons are specifically designed for middle school and high school students who might have trouble understanding certain mathematical or scientific concepts as well as students who want to improve their already solid foundation in these subjects.
