About Cary

For the first 7 years of my career, I was a process control engineer in the manufacturing industry. I then turned to teaching in the homeschool community where I have been teaching my own and other students math, science, economics, and computer science. My students have achieved high scores on the ACT and SAT and have thrived in colleges such as UC Berkeley, Cal Poly, and Diablo Valley College. I have a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo in Canada. In my 20 years as an educator, I have experienced a variety of learning styles and have discovered that there is no cookie cutter technique to learning. I have explored a variety of curricula and reference materials such as Aleks, Kahn Academy, Abeka, Singapore Math, and Moog programs.

About the lesson

I am convinced that with the right combination of drive and guidance everyone can learn what they need to reach their goals. With patience and empathy, I meet my student's understanding where they are at. My thorough understanding of the foundational skills in these subject areas allows me to provide effective and simple yet robust solution strategies for approaching complex problems.
