About Jocelyn

I have a passion for teaching students of all ages and worked in the public school system for the last 5 years teaching general music and recently, show choir. Prior to teaching, I was a board-certified music therapist for hospice. I also have experience teaching piano lessons to all ages and taught in-home as well as through schools of music.

About the lesson

I have experience as a music therapist and music educator and am able to tailor my instruction to meet the individual needs of students. My goal is to make music an engaging and meaningful experience where students will grow as musicians!

Jocelyn was a substitute teacher for the year I was out on medical leave and did a wonderful job working with my 7-12 grade students. Her rapport was great, lessons and communication excellent, and parents enjoyed her performances. 10/10 recommendation

Mrs. Thompson is someone who desires to see children excel in their music interests. I’ve personally seen her take students with little to no experience and help them to become talented pianists! Mrs. Thompson has a tremendous amount of patience and the ability to make those who are learning to feel comfortable and capable. I would highly recommend her to the beginner, or to those looking to take their music ability to the next level.
