About Chloe

Past student present teacher - I value professionalism and assure you with full confidence that I will respect your time and space while building a mutually beneficial connection that I hope will last beyond the classroom and benefit you further once you begin working as a professional in the Detroit art scene yourself. I don't do it for the money - although it's lovely being able to get paid for creating and sharing my talent and experience with future artists and designers - I truly enjoy teaching. It's priceless being able to feel the positive energy and see the look on someone's face when the structure starts to fall apart as they get past the basics of skill building and fall fully into a flow state, creating effortlessly in a way that makes them feel completely different than the person they were when they first came through the door and so soon after nurturing that initial curiosity and creative talent. I fully trust that once they have the skills to take it away without my help, they will do amazing things and there's nothing more rewarding than feeling an excited student ready to leave the room and no longer in need of my guidance and helping hand - you can feel it, a shift, as soon as they are ready to create a space of their own, so begins their journey searching endlessly for a way to say what it means for them to exist, through their art - the artist I always saw ready to step forward from behind the shadows and into the light that one hopes to be there as an observer to watch as it fills their eyes and is translated into an artwork for everyone else to see and hopefully find truth in, a way to relate.

I met Chloe several
Years ago at the hair salon. She had given the salon owner a painting she had done for her and I absolutely loved it! I told her I enjoyed painting for fun but I wasn’t very knowledgeable about the medium. She offered to give me some instruction and she worked with me for several months. She was very patient and informative. She taught me how to use oils and watercolors and really helped me master the basics. I’m so glad we met and that I was able to learn so many skills that enhanced my art. I highly recommend her, she’s personable, bright and very talented!
