About Joseph

Joseph Graduated from the Guildford School of Acting in 2010 and has appeared in productions such as Jersey Boys, Les Miserables and Evita. Alongside this he is a founding member, and creative consultant for The Other Guys Entertainment and has performed and managed many of their productions all over the world, as well as helping the company create new acts and stand out in an incredibly saturated market.

Joseph's singing method is based in the Bel Canto and Estill technique, however he believes that there isn't a one size fits all approach when it comes to singing and that every voice is unique so he has a bespoke approach with each of his students ranging from complete beginners to West End professionals.

About the lesson

"Singing in front of people, regardless of whether it’s just friends and family, or on a West End stage, is a nerve wracking and a daunting experience. The adrenaline we experience triggers our fight or flight mode and causes our voices to clamp up and restrict. This is totally normal and all performers have experienced this phenomenon at some point.

I specialise in giving my students the tools and techniques to overcome anxiety and ‘stage fright’. I help them, not only reverse the negative effects that adrenaline has on the voice but use it to their advantage, so they can excel under pressure and sing beyond what they thought was achievable.

In our lessons my aim is to discover how your voice works, diagnose any issues that you may be facing and find solutions that will help you increase your freedom, power and range.”

I lost confidence in my singing and when someone suggested to go to Joe it was the best suggestion I have ever had. I feel like I can sing with confidence now, also higher than I ever have before. Joe is good fun too and knows how to keep lessons engaging and enjoyable. Joe really knows how to get the best out of people and I think he is just brilliant.
