About Peter
My most recent job was running events and managing a local games shop, through that I met many families and found myself often helping their children understand concepts within maths and the like as they learnt how to play various games that we had on offer.
Because of this and my recent move to becoming a freelance games writer I decided that offering my services as a tutor was a logical move. I've worked in a pure teaching role previously when I worked at both Coventry and Wolverhampton University in their FabLab programs and I enjoyed seeing my students understand a difficult concept they had struggled with immensely satisfying.
Outside of my teaching I'm pretty much a standard nerd, I like playing games, watching movies, reading, and discussion with friends about whichever topic has currently grabbed our attention.

Having previously worked in STEM outreach for Coventry and Wolverhamption University teaching complex engineering and computing projects to children between the ages of 7-16 I have honed my skills in introducing concepts at a base level to a student and assisting them in building up that base to the higher level concepts they wish to master.
My lessons are for children aged 6-16 and cover from general learning to GCSEs and futher in certain areas. A lesson will typically last 45-50 minutes of focused learning within an hour session with small breaks to allow the refocusing of concentration and to help prevent mental fatigue.
If needs be refresher lessons can be planned as well covering single topics and these tend to be 20 or so minutes specifically targetting a given problem area.
