Looking for a tutor who can help your child catch up, get ahead, or feel confident in learning? Hi! I’m Megan, a K–8 educator with 28+ years of experience helping students thrive in reading and math. I work with struggling learners, gifted students, and those needing enrichment, using research-based strategies like Orton-Gillingham/Sonday and Singapore Math.

My lessons are personalized, engaging, and confidence-building. As a parent, I understand the importance of clear communication and partnership with families. Students and parents can count on me to be professional, supportive, and committed to meaningful progress every session.

My Approach
I meet students where they are and build skills alongside confidence. With 28+ years in K–8 education, I use structured, research-based methods paired with a supportive, encouraging approach so students feel comfortable taking risks and make meaningful progress.

Methods & Techniques

Reading: Structured literacy (Orton-Gillingham/Sonday) with explicit phonics, decoding, and fluency
Math: Conceptual teaching (Singapore Math) using visual models and step-by-step support
Frequent checks for understanding, guided practice, and immediate feedback

Typical Lesson
Quick review → targeted instruction → guided practice → independent attempt → positive wrap-up
