About Ananya

I am a dedicated and experienced Tutor with several years of tutoring experience supporting students from Grades 1–10 in mathematics, science, English, chemistry, and biology. As a University of Toronto graduate with an Honors Bachelor of Science earned with distinction, I have strong academic expertise, professionalism, and a passion for helping students succeed.

My teaching style is patient, supportive, and highly personalized. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to fit individual learning styles, academic goals, and confidence levels. My focus is not only on improving grades, but also on helping students develop critical thinking skills, strong study habits, and long-term academic independence.

Through my experience teaching in both one-on-one and group settings, I have successfully helped students strengthen foundational skills, overcome academic challenges, and excel in their coursework. I pride myself on creating engaging, structured lessons that make difficult concepts easier to understand while fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment.

My goal is to make learning approachable, empowering, and rewarding for every student I work with.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is personalized, concept-focused, and designed to build both academic success and student confidence. I adapt each lesson to the student’s learning style, strengths, and areas for improvement while creating a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions. I make sure to break down complex material into simple, manageable steps, and I help strengthen study habits, critical thinking, and exam skills.

My typical lesson plan consists of reviewing previous material, introducing and explaining new concepts, guided practice together, independent student practice, and, finally, a quick summary of what we have learned and how to improve.

I believe I am different from other tutors because I have strong experience in mentorship. Every student needs a mentor or a friend who can guide them towards success, not just a tutor who knows how to teach. I am very passionate about helping students build long-term confidence and independence.

The lessons are for Elementary to grade 10 students (Grades 1–10) for math, English and science (biology and chemistry).
