About David Wium

I am a final-year BEng Mining student. I have completed all my engineering mathematics modules - the last of which was passed with a distinction at 78%. Having studied calculus, linear algebra and thermodynamics, I understand how important it is to have a firm grasp of the scope and limits of each concept. I have been a yoga instructor for two years, with a group of about a 100-odd participating university students. I have only assisted fellow students with mathematics; so I would require curriculum-specific material.

About the lesson

My teaching method is aimed at leading the student to understand the concept at there own volition. In my experience, focus is to be given to the range of difficulty indicated by the student's current marks i.e. learning to swim before jumping in the ocean. I would require preview of the student's curriculum and access to study material. I would then prepare a lesson, if the explanation of an unfamiliar subject is required. I am also readily available for webcam lessons to help students with specific questions, that present uncertainty.
With an unfamiliar subject, the lesson would start with recap of the required base knowledge. Making sure that these are understood to the point of being applied to the new subject. Incorporating these into the model of the new subject. At which point dynamics in the new model will be displayed through examples. The student will start with examples that incorporate only a few of the unique attributes of the model moving; to more complex examples later. If there are not enough examples at the level of focus more examples will be constructed.
I do understand that students maybe pressed for time, however. Thus I can assist in ascertaining important concepts, with the use of memory tricks.
