About Sara

I’m a Microbiology & Immunology student at the University of Miami with a 3.85 GPA and hands-on experience teaching and mentoring students. I currently serve as a Biology Workshop Leader at UM and have experience working one-on-one with students of different ages and learning needs. I’m patient, dependable, and passionate about helping students feel more confident academically. My background in science, teaching, mentorship, and research allows me to provide knowledgeable and supportive academic guidance tailored to each student.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is personalized, patient, and focused on making challenging material feel manageable. As a University of Miami Biology Workshop Leader, I have experience teaching students, breaking down complex concepts, answering questions, and developing effective study strategies. I adapt each lesson to the student’s learning style and begin by identifying areas where they need the most support. From there, we review concepts together, work through practice problems or assignments, and build strategies they can use independently. I also have experience mentoring students one-on-one and supporting students with diverse learning needs. My goal is not only to improve grades, but to help students become more confident, organized, and independent learners. I offer K–12 tutoring in science and biology, as well as homework help, test preparation, organization, and general study skills.
