About Thomas
Hello! I'm Thomas, an undergraduate physics student at the University of Nottingham. I have experience tutoring in the past with a wide breadth of skill sets and enthusiasm, but one thing for certain, is that I can always produce a more confident, more skilled student. With As in A level maths and physics, and an array of 9s at GCSE, I have vast experience in revision techniques that work even for people which science and maths "doesn't come naturally to". Outside of academics, I love to play jazz piano and have even composed my own music in the past. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you work towards your goals!

My tutoring approach is focused on problem solving first, as I believe it is the best way to learn STEM subjects. There is an expectation to continue practice outside of lessons, as this is the real key to developing analytical skills regardless of the challenge at hand. I aim to make lessons engaging, and encourage my students to see real-world connections, particularly in a subject like mathematics which can be abstract and intimidating. I keep lessons to around an hour, as it is important to stay engaged and focused which from experience is easier in smaller chunks. I pride myself on having patience with students, as well as being a friendly face who always wants to see you thrive!
