About Alexandra
I am a first year maths student at the University of Birmingham, and I know just how hard maths can be. I did not and still do not find maths easy, but I love the challenge of it and the rush of excitement, when working through problems that I hope I can pass onto you.
Being highly motivated can be hard sometimes but hopefully by slowly getting stronger and stronger at maths, you can build up that motivation, confidence and love for maths.
Few irrelevant facts about me: I am originally Russian, I love sports, especially sailing, athletics and netball, my favourite band is Arctic monkeys and my favourite time of the year is summer because I LOVE having a tan. :)

Lessons can vary in length depending on your needs, but typically I have taught lessons between 1-2 hours, 1-2 times a week. I think it is key to adjust teaching methods to every student and I would get to know the best way of working with the student over time. Maths is an on hand subject so I like to focus on examples and exam questions as I have seen this to improve the students performance.
I have taught students of different ages, varying from 9 years of age up to GCSE standard, and all have been seen to have significant improvements in their maths skills.
If the students are younger I like to be in contact with the parents just to ensure that they can send me the curriculum and I have also found that the parents often like to send me some questions that they do in class, so we can work through them at a slower pace. However I also have many resources that I use to fit every level of students and to challenge them further.
