About Mai Vy

I immigrated from Vietnam in 2018 and began high school in the US as a 9th grader learning English as my second language. Navigating a new environment and the college process independently taught me perseverance, adaptability, and the importance of self-motivation. These experiences shaped my passion for helping other students overcome challenges and reach their goals. I’ve worked as a teaching assistant in summer camps for middle and high school students, and I’ve provided virtual tutoring in math and English throughout the school year, experiences that have deepened my ability to connect with students from all backgrounds. Outside of academics, I enjoy watching thriller movies, visiting Universal Studios, and getting lost in a good book. I also find creative relaxation through diamond painting, which helps me stay focused and patient, qualities I bring into every tutoring session. I believe that learning should be both supportive and engaging, and I strive to create a welcoming space where students feel encouraged, understood, and empowered to succeed.

I’ve recently navigated the competitive college admissions landscape myself, so I know what it takes to succeed and am passionate about helping others do the same.
