About Sue
I am a patient and caring, retired teacher with more than 30 years of experience in the education system. I have worked as a classroom teacher, a special education teacher, an ESL teacher, a guidance counselor and a student success coach. I have worked both in person and online. I am OTC certified and hold a specialist qualification in both special education and guidance. Due to my guidance role, and supply teaching after retirement, I have had the opportunity to work in multiple schools within Toronto and have worked with students from a wide variety of backgrounds and grade levels. This makes me very adaptable to working with students with different needs.

I have over 30 years of experience with students from K to grade 8 and offer a supportive and patient tutoring style. One of my core teaching beliefs is that it is my job to help a student understand, and if a student isn't grasping a concept, I need to figure out how to convey that knowledge in a way that meets their needs. I love to teach both math and literacy, but also really love to put my vast experience as a guidance counselor to use and to assist students with coaching on executive functioning, study and time management skills as well as social-emotional supports. I also have strong knowledge of the transitions process from grade 8 to grade 9 within the Toronto area and am happy to assist both students and parents with this proceeding.
