About Michael

Hi, I’m Michael! I graduated with a degree in Musical Theatre from Columbia College Chicago, and since then, I’ve spent years teaching voice and piano at several non-profits and schools. Alongside my teaching, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to perform in and music direct various productions, which has fueled my passion for both on and off stage. Originally from Iowa, I moved to Chicago to pursue my career in theatre and music, and am now based in Denver. Throughout my journey, I’ve worked with a diverse mix of students and artists, and I’m always committed to learning and growing—both as a performer and as a teaching artist. My experiences have shaped me into someone who believes deeply in the transformative power of music, and I’m excited to share that with my students every day!

With a big focus on breath control, vocal power, and confidence, I’ll guide you through techniques and warm-ups that will make your singing feel effortless. My approach is all about exploring different stylistic techniques—from pop and R&B to musical theatre—so you can express yourself in the way that feels most natural.

I absolutely love working with unique voices, and I’m passionate about helping each student build a sound that’s their own. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced singer (many of my students have gone on to study music and theatre in college!), I’m here to support you every step of the way. Plus, with my piano skills, I can accompany you during lessons, bringing a whole new level of excitement and depth to your practice sessions. Together, we’ll not only build a solid foundation for your singing, but also develop skills that will carry over into everyday life—helping you find confidence and creativity both on and off the stage!
