About Maya
School tends to be incredibly overwhelming! During high school and college I had to tackle some pretty difficult subjects myself. But anyone can learn anything with the combination of determination and customization. As someone who has had extensive experience in advanced mathematics at my prior and current jobs in technology , I like to emphasize the applications and importance of math, as it is the stepping stone to higher-level thinking. I'm also open to helping people out with programming and cybersecurity (my degree is in computer science). Other fun facts about me - I'm stand-up comedian which makes me a lot more entertaining as an educator.

Problem-solving is for everyone so I've taught people younger and older than me! Obviously my approach is flexible - I can help your child ace their next algebra test, or teach adults the fundamentals of calculus. All the lecturing in the world isn't going to teach someone math, but repeated practice problems through an analytical lens helps people with both how and why you need to approach subjects. I also cater to disabilities and learning styles.
