About Michelle

I am a flute teacher and musician based in Woking, Surrey, originally from Hong Kong. With 15 years of teaching experience and a 100% ABRSM exam pass rate, including many Distinctions in flute and theory, I provide individual and small-group lessons for students of all levels, from beginners to advanced players, with flexible scheduling. I have wide performance experience as a soloist and ensemble musician. My flute mentors include Mr Olivier Pierre Nowak, Co-Principal Flute of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, and Ms Uranga Erdocia, former Principal Flute of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. Education and Qualifications • Master of Arts in Music — The Chinese University of Hong Kong • Bachelor of Arts in Music — Hong Kong Baptist University • Postgraduate Diploma in Education — The Education University of Hong Kong • ABRSM Grade 8 Flute & Grade 8 Theory • LTCL (Trinity College London) Flute Performance — Distinction I am passionate about helping students grow in musicality, technique, and confidence, offering lessons that are structured, enjoyable, and inspiring.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and learning style. Whether you are a complete beginner or preparing for ABRSM exams, I provide clear guidance on technique, tone, and musical expression. I use demonstration-based learning and give structured practice plans so students can progress confidently. Lessons are enjoyable, encouraging, and focused on building both musicality and discipline. I teach at a comfortable pace and celebrate every improvement, no matter how small. My aim is to help students feel motivated and proud of their playing.
