About David

After completing an MChem at Oxford I studied music at postgraduate level in London and now perform across the UK and in Europe in opera, song recitals and choral music.

I have been teaching singing and piano to people of all ages since 2013, and in 2017 I was shortlisted for Classic FM's Music Teacher of the Year award. I relish the different challenges that come with working with singers of a variety of ages and with different levels of experience.

My tuition is always tailored to the individual, bringing out and developing the unique voice that each of us possesses. I work hard to build trust and a safe environment within which my students can explore their voices and gain ever greater mastery.

I offer comprehensive preparation for graded singing exams with ABRSM and Trinity, as well as a more fluid non-exam approach based on building a repertoire of songs and arias in different styles. From a solid basis of classical technique it is possible to branch out with ease into musical theatre and pop/rock repertoire.

I'd be delighted to hear from you if you'd like to discuss your, or your child's, particular needs. If no times are shown for a given week, it's likely to be due to rehearsals or performances, but it's almost always possible to find a time slot, so please do drop me a line and we can fix something up.
