About David
I was a 4.0 student in my PhD studies. I have published peer-reviewed articles and books, I have edited books and, in all things, hold myself to the highest professional and academic standards. That said, philosophy is meant to make a difference in the lives of those who study it. Thus, the "highest professional and academic standards" cannot and do not mean "inaccessible" and unnecessarily complex. I also maintain positions in organizations and offer what is called "service to the profession" in order to continue to grow and develop in my discipline.

My approach to teaching is conversational. In philosophy especially, one learns best in discourse and conversation. As a tutor, it is not my aim to dispense knowledge into a waiting mind, but to guide my students in a process of discovery and truth. Of course, I teach the texts and the philosophical concepts, but my primary goal is to help you cultivate skills of critical thinking that will serve you in any path you choose in life.
