About Alaric
Music has always been an important part of my life, and I enjoy sharing that passion by helping students become confident and expressive trumpet players. My teaching style combines patience, professionalism, and flexibility to ensure every student receives instruction that matches their needs and ambitions.
I encourage students to develop strong technical foundations while exploring creativity, musical interpretation, and confident performance.
Every lesson is designed to motivate students, strengthen their skills, and build a lifelong appreciation for music through consistent guidance and meaningful learning experiences.

I believe every trumpet student has unique strengths and learning goals, which is why each lesson is fully customised to maximise progress and enjoyment. Lessons cover breathing techniques, embouchure development, articulation, tone production, rhythm, note reading, scales, music theory, flexibility exercises, endurance, lip slurs, dynamics, phrasing, sight reading, and expressive interpretation.
Students preparing for school bands, orchestras, jazz ensembles, competitions, or music examinations receive specialised coaching tailored to their performance requirements.
Advanced learners also explore improvisation, solo repertoire, orchestral excerpts, advanced tonguing techniques, ensemble skills, and stage presence. Through personalised feedback, structured practice plans, and consistent encouragement, students develop both technical excellence and lasting confidence.
