About Shelsia

Hi! My name is Shelsia Vincent, and I am a rising senior at RHS planning to major in computer science. I have a strong academic foundation in mathematics and problem-solving, along with excellent reading comprehension skills. I am patient, detail-oriented, and enjoy helping others learn and build confidence in their abilities.
I am bilingual, fluent in English and Tamil, and conversational in Spanish, which allows me to communicate effectively with students from diverse backgrounds. I am comfortable using computers and educational software and have strong organizational and time-management skills. In my free time, I enjoy gaming, reading, and socializing with friends, activities that have helped me develop teamwork, focus, and communication skills.

About the lesson

About My Lessons:
I make learning English fun, interactive, and confidence-building for children. My lessons focus on reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar, while encouraging curiosity and a love of language.
Teaching Method and Techniques:
Use stories, games, and creative activities to practice reading and writing.
Break down grammar and language rules into easy-to-understand steps.
Encourage active participation through discussion, exercises, and practice.
Provide positive reinforcement to help children feel confident and motivated.
Typical Lesson Plan:
Warm-up with a short story or reading exercise
Introduce a new concept (vocabulary, grammar, or writing technique)
Guided practice together through exercises or games
Independent practice with support as needed
Recap and suggestions for at-home practice
What Sets Me Apart:
I tailor lessons to each child’s level, interests, and learning style.
I create a supportive environment that helps students enjoy learning and improve steadily.
I focus on both skills and confidence, ensuring children not only learn English but feel proud of their progress.
Who the Lessons Are For:
Elementary and middle school students looking to improve reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar.
Children who want to gain confidence and enjoy learning English, not just memorize rules.
