About Dana
I am a college student with hands-on experience teaching science lessons to children through my work at summer camp. This experience helped me develop my ability to explain concepts, guide students through activities, and make learning engaging and accessible. I have also developed leadership and communication skills through working with young students.
As a tutor, I want to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I believe in breaking down challenging topics into manageable steps, using practical examples, and encouraging students to work through problems rather than simply giving them the answers.
I offer academic support in general homework, math, and science, as well as creative art activities for elementary and middle school students. My goal is to help each student strengthen their understanding, develop effective learning habits, and build confidence in their abilities.

My goal as a tutor is to help students feel more confident in their abilities while making learning easier to understand and enjoyable. I have experience working with children through summer camp and youth activities, where I learned the importance of patience, communication, and adapting to different learning styles.
My teaching approach is hands-on and personalized. I like to break down challenging concepts into smaller steps, use examples students can relate to, and give them opportunities to practice what they learn. A typical lesson would begin with reviewing the topic and identifying what the student needs help with. From there, we would work through examples together, practice problems or activities, and finish by reviewing what they have learned.
I can help elementary and middle school students with general homework, math, science, and creative art activities. Whether a student needs help understanding a difficult topic, preparing for an assignment, or exploring their creativity, I want to create a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.
