About Semhal
I am someone who has spent the past four years teaching maths to students from Grades 1 to 8, not as a formal profession, but as a genuine passion. I have always believed that knowledge gains its true value when it is shared, and this belief is what draws me to teaching and guiding young learners.
My motivation to teach comes from seeing students grow in confidence when a concept finally becomes clear to them. I find deep satisfaction in helping children overcome their difficulties, supporting them patiently, and watching their attitude towards maths change from uncertainty to confidence.
Over the years, I have learned that every student learns differently and at their own pace. This understanding shapes the way I teach with patience, empathy, and careful attention to building strong foundations. I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning from them.
Ultimately, my goal is not only to help students improve academically, but to help them develop confidence, discipline, and a positive relationship with learning that will benefit them far beyond maths.

My personal approach to tutoring is patient, supportive, and student-centred. I understand that every child learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to suit the student’s level, strengths, and areas that need improvement. I break down difficult maths topics into simple steps and explain them using real-life examples that make learning easier and more enjoyable.
I encourage students to ask questions freely and build their confidence through practice and positive reinforcement. My aim is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them feel confident and independent in maths.
I place strong importance on building a solid foundation, especially for younger learners, as this is key to long-term success in maths. I regularly review previous topics to ensure students fully understand the basics before moving on to more advanced concepts.
I also believe communication is essential, so I keep parents informed about their child’s progress and areas that need attention. By creating a calm, motivating, and structured learning environment, I help students stay focused, motivated, and confident in their abilities.
