About Irmak
I am in my last year of high school in Ontario and have been involved in peer tutoring for grades between 9 and 11 within the past year. I’ve always wanted to UNDERSTAND math, beyond just memorizing. I truly understand and relate to anyone struggling with the subject. Our curriculum does have some big jumps; and I believe that any other high schooler like me should have the chance to really understand the math and do well. I have resources and learning material that I’ve used in school, and have a good grasp of the Ontario Secondary School curriculum. That’s all to say, if you’ve been struggling with math in high school, whether it be Grade 9 Principles of Math, or Grade 11 Functions, and are looking for someone closer to your age who’s been in your exact position, I really hope you feel free to contact me :)

Hi! I’m Irmak!
I am a Grade 12 student who can help Ontario Secondary School students with their work and questions!
I know that math can be A LOT at once. Especially having to grasp what all these functions really represent…
Sometimes, it helps to visualize and have some context behind it all!
And I’d love to help!

I met Irmak sometime in my Gr10 year, but didn’t really get to know her. However, in the first semester of my Gr11 year, we had about 2 classes together. Those 2 classes were my favourite time of day. We began getting to know each other in our Functions class, and it was there we shared what we joking refer to as a trauma-bond; and where I began kicking myself for not trying to befriend this girl sooner. I genuinely cried when I found out we had no classes together the second semester.
Right off the bat, Irmak was the kindest, sweetest person I had ever met and I will likely ever meet. In every class i had with her, she was trusted more than the actual teacher. After every lesson, there would genuinely be a line of students, whether she had ever spoken to them or not, who asked poor Irmak to clarify what was going on. Even in the mornings, I would see people coming up to Irmak with tests, homework, assignments, asking them to explain the topic and/or their mistakes. Most would find this annoying, but Irmak always seemed more than happy to help. Her knack for taking the most complex of topics and explaining them in such a way my 8 year old brother understood it. Everyone who had ever asked her for help left knowing more than they had started; I often left feeling silly for not understanding earlier. I am willing to make the claim that there countless tests that everyone would have been failed if it wasn’t for Irmak.
Even so, Irmak has this incredible, almost mythical patience. Days in which i or someone else was being incredibly stupid, she had no trouble explaining a topic over and over again, until we knew exactly what she meant. I have seen the girl explain Trig Ratios for an hour. Sine, Cosine, Tangent. for an HOUR. The teacher gave up after 10 minutes.
In our group of friends, We tend to ask each other questions or share assignments for peer editing. It become almost a saying within us: “Oh I mean, I think. Make sure you ask Irmak” “I wouldn’t trust me, ask Irmak” “What did Irmak say?” Irmak’s reputation at out school rivals that of Plato’s in Athens. She is incredible.
I did not know true intelligence and kindness until i met Irmak. She is patient, she is kind. I owe my sanity (and grades) throughout the last school year to her. I cannot explain how I am lucky to call Irmak a friend.See more recommendations
