About Shaik
When I was 10-year-old, my father brought home a desktop computer. It was the best thing that could happen to a curious child like myself. I began by understanding the basic functions and memorized all the shortcuts of Windows XP. That was a remarkable feat at that age. I was unaware of what the future held in store for me. In school, my interests naturally inclined towards Maths and Science. As a result, I found myself solving problems not only from our curriculum textbooks but also from other books. Thanks to my teachers, they saw my potential and mentored me. My ability to communicate well and get along with peers led me to become the Student Pupils Leader and President of our High School. After the class 10th exam results came, I opted for the Science stream. My subjects were Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Along with focussing on academics, I began honing my computing skills. The internet became my ally in this pursuit of knowledge. I learned C and Python programming languages by gathering virtual resources and using books from our school library. Having participated in coding and HTML workshops by HP, I got further exposure to the world of tech. Moving beyond the curriculum, I solved Thomas Calculus, Linear Algebra By Kenneth Hoffman and Levy Processes and Stochastic Calculus by David Applebaum. My initial interest in computers and mathematics began evolving into a deeper passion. This got me to enrol in Abacus - a system of quickly doing complex mathematical calculations. I achieved Masters level in Abacus. Parallelly, we were introduced to Calculus and Higher Algebra in school. Both these fields of Mathematics helped me sharpen my critical thinking skills. Because of which my ability to code drastically improved. Especially C language where a lot of mathematical tools are utilised as a prerequisite to creating programs.
Being mentally agile and academically sound is one thing. And having experience in serving others is another thing. To have a holistic learning approach, I participated in the Animal Conservation Week Conducted BY ARPF India. There I was awarded the title "Sparrow Warrior". I also served in a Non-Government Organisation - RISE Institute For 2 years. There we helped the less privileged people get access to groceries and clothing. Kindliness is Godliness, that's what I came to believe during my volunteering experience.
I watched tutorials on YouTube on advanced Mathematics and Computing. Sought additional wisdom from Edx and NPTel as well. Some of the courses include - CS50, Probability and Statistics in Machine Learning Using Python, Intro To Data Structures And Algorithms, Calculus I and II, Game theory, Differential Equations, Surface and Volume Integrals, Basics OF Numerical Analysis and Topology, Fourier, Laplace and Z transforms, Sequences and Series. All the above courses helped me understand my Major in a well-structured manner.
The world of tech is an ever-evolving field. I began my journey with Windows XP. Now we have 3D printed motorbikes in the making. It is, in simple words, the engine which drives development. I aIn the coming decade, I see myself fulfilling my long-term objective of working with technology. My broader vision is to utilise my knowledge of multiple domains that correlate with computers and machine learning. These will include Game Theory, Mathematical Modelling and Data Science, to name a few. Following the path to making my goals come true, I wish to open up the field of STEM to people across the world who presently have limited resources to connect with technology. Science is what fuels global growth when combined with technology.im to fuel it with my skills and expertise
