Typical Lesson Plan:
Warm-Up (5-10 minutes)(not for first time with student): Start with a quick review of previous material or a brief problem-solving activity to get the student thinking mathematically.
Introduction of New Concept (15-20 minutes)(if needed): Introduce the new topic using explanations and examples. Demonstrate the steps involved and discuss the underlying principles.
Guided Practice (15-20 minutes)(can be the students homework from school which will be the usual case): Work through several problems together, gradually decreasing the level of guidance as the student becomes more comfortable with the material.
Independent Practice (15-20 minutes): Allow the student to work on a set of problems(sometimes the homework I didn't help them with yet) independently. This helps assess their understanding and ability to apply the new concept.
Review and Reflection (5-10 minutes): Go over the answers, discuss any mistakes or difficulties encountered, and summarize key points from the lesson. Offer additional practice or resources if needed.
Homework Assignment (optional): Provide relevant exercises for further practice, tailored to the student’s needs and the day's lesson.
