About Rachel
I am a neuroscience major with a chemistry minor and a strong academic background in STEM subjects, including chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, and mathematics. Throughout my education, I have completed rigorous coursework and developed effective study strategies that have helped me succeed in challenging science and math classes.
As a former IB student, I understand the demands of advanced coursework and the importance of building a strong conceptual foundation rather than relying on memorization. I am also preparing to pursue MD/PhD programs, which reflects my long-term commitment to science, research, and education.
I strive to create a supportive and professional learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through difficult concepts. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them become more confident and independent learners.
I am reliable, patient, and dedicated to each student's success, and I tailor lessons to meet individual learning styles and academic goals.

My goal as a tutor is to help students truly understand the material, not just memorize it for a test. I focus on active recall and regularly ask students questions throughout lessons to make sure they understand concepts and can apply them on their own.
A typical lesson includes reviewing previous material, working through new concepts step-by-step, and practicing problems together. I encourage students to explain their thinking, which helps build confidence and identify areas that need more work.
As a neuroscience major with a strong background in chemistry, organic chemistry, and mathematics, I understand how challenging STEM courses can be and have developed effective study strategies that I share with my students. Having completed the IB program myself, I am also very familiar with the rigor and expectations of IB courses and exams.
I tutor high school students in math and chemistry, including AP and IB courses, as well as college students taking general chemistry or organic chemistry.
