About Conor
I’m a mature Nautical Science student at the National Maritime College of Ireland, currently training towards becoming a professional deck officer. My studies involve practical maths, navigation and problem-solving, and I’ve also spent over a year at sea working aboard an LNG carrier.
Before returning to education, I worked in a range of roles including watersports instruction and management, so I have plenty of experience teaching, communicating clearly and adapting my approach to different people.
I know that maths can become frustrating when something hasn’t been explained in a way that clicks. I aim to provide patient, straightforward lessons where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and working through problems at their own pace.

My lessons are relaxed, practical and tailored to the individual student. I focus on helping students actually understand how to approach a problem rather than simply memorising formulas or methods.
We can work through topics you're struggling with, homework, past exam questions or general revision at your own pace. I'll break problems down step by step and explain them in different ways until they make sense.
Before each lesson, you can send me the topic or questions you'd like to cover so I can prepare and make the best use of our time.
I'm particularly suited to Junior Cycle and secondary-school students who want to improve their confidence and understanding of Maths in a patient, pressure-free environment.
