About Amila

I'm studying maths at university. The independence and enthusiastic professors made me fall back in love with the subject and I wouldn't have it any other way. My aim is to provide support and tailor tutoring around your needs. When you are paying for extra tutoring, you lead the session and together we fill in the gaps so you feel happy and confident for your exams. I have experience tutoring friends and family for free, and I volunteered to tutor younger years for free as well. I truly love teaching. I have access to both A-Level and GCSE curriculums and for primary and secondary school tutor sessions, we can create our own curriculum together based on your teacher's feedback.

About the lesson

First there is a brief introduction to the topic, then the student will work through a question to show they've understood. If they make a mistake, I go back and teach them. Content and duration of the lessons depend on the student's academic level. For example, A-Level and GCSE content is very much based on past papers and textbooks. A-Level and GCSE students guide their own sessions, pinpointing areas they're stuck on so they can maximise the full use of the session. Sessions can be an hour or half an hour long. An hour is recommended for general revision and anywhere between 5 to 10 questions depending on their confidence level. Half an hour is recommended to focus in on a specific topic. Students have the independence to book different sessions for different needs.

Perfect! Amila is an amazing, friendly and professional tutor, we are so happy to have found her. Amila took her time to explain everything throughly. Straight away she put Isabella at ease and was extremely patient with her. Amila explained topics, hard mathematical concepts and questions in an easy way for Isabella to understand. I would definitely recommend Amila to anyone that wants a really good maths tutor, that knows her stuff and comes with a lot of patience.
